<a href="http://www.encyklopedia.dinozaury.com/i ... auridae</a> to grupa dziwacznych teropodów z grupy <a href="http://www.encyklopedia.dinozaury.com/i ... ozaurów</a>, znanych przede wszystkim z bardzo krótkich kończyn przednich i głowy często zdobionej różkami. Dotychczas uważano, że ten zaawansowany klad ceratozaurów powstał we <a href="http://www.encyklopedia.dinozaury.com/i ... ">wczesnej kredzie</a>, dlatego spore zaskoczenie wywołała informacja o odkryciu środkowojurajskiego abelizauryda.

Redukcja kończyn zauważalna, a i kość łopatkowo-krucza mniej rozrośnięta niż u późniejszych abelizaurydów.

O jedno "u" za dużo ;)

Skopiowałem akapit z opisu lambeozaura Macieja, dotyczącego "L." laticaudus do zalążka magnapaulii + dodałem Gatesa i in.

Adult hadrosaurids (i.e., specimens with over 85% of maximum recorded skull length for the species [43]) typically reached body lengths of 7–10 m [35]. Some bones of Magnapaulia laticaudus represent individuals well in excess of 10 m in length. For example, the humerus of LACM 17712 measures 723 mm in length as preserved (the bone lacks its proximal region; Fig. 14E, F). The total length of the humerus of LACM 17712 was estimated in 803 mm by regressing the length of the distal humeral half with the total length of the element, using a sample of lambeosaurine hadrosaurids (Fig. 24). From this estimate, and the relationship between humerus length (Table 5) and total body length in hadrosaurids (Fig. 25), the body length of LACM 17712 was estimated in approximately 12.5 m, a more conservative figure than the 14–15 m considered by Morris [7]. Other exemplars, such as LACM 20874 (Fig. 18), may also represent individuals reaching over 12 m in length. Notably, Morris [25] reported an incomplete lambeosaurine humerus, LACM 26757, from the El Gallo Formation. The proximal end of this humerus was restored and its total length was estimated in 950 mm [25]. We have not been able to locate this humerus in the collections of the LACM nor the IGM, and the bone may or may not belong to M. laticaudus. Yet, if Morris' restoration and length estimation are accurate, this element would represent a lambeosaurine nearing 15 m in length, a dimension comparable to that reported for Shantungosaurus giganteus [65] (Fig. 25).

Overall, the above estimates position Magnapaulia laticaudus as the largest recorded lambeosaurine (individuals from the other taxa of the clade do not surpass the 9–10 m in length; Fig. 25) and one of the largest known hadrosaurid species, not only in North America, but in the world. In North America, M. Laticaudus might have been rivaled in size by at least some exemplars of Edmontosaurus annectens (e.g., NHM 3656, the dentary of which is over 1 m in length) and probably the largest individuals of Kritosaurus navajovius [66] and Anasazisaurus horneri [67]. In a global context, our more conservative estimates of the body length of M. laticaudus set this animal's dimensions below the 14.7 m reported for Shantungosaurus giganteus [65], which still remains the largest known described hadrosaurid species.
biorąc pod uwagę dane z ryc. 25, LACM 26757 ma ok. 15,3 m +/- 1 m

Filling the ceratosaur gap: A new ceratosaurian theropod from the Early Cretaceous of Spain
Bárbara Sánchez-Hernández and Michael J. Benton Acta Palaeontologica Polonica in press available online 23 Oct 2012
Ceratosaurian theropods evolved in two bursts, first in the Middle and Late Jurassic and then in the Late Cretaceous, leaving a 20 Myr gap in the Early Cretaceous during which remains are rare. We describe here a new ceratosaurian theropod, Camarillasaurus cirugedae, from fluvial deposits of the Camarillas Formation (lower Barremian, Lower Cretaceous) of Camarillas, Teruel Province, NE Spain. The new theropod is represented by a collection of associated bones, including a tooth, a possible cervical vertebra, two sternal plates, the proximal part of a right tibia, a broken right scapulocoracoid, the incomplete sacrum, five caudal vertebrae, an isolated caudal neural arch, a chevron, an almost complete presacral rib and some fragments of vertebrae, ribs, and other elements. Camarillasaurus is differentiated from other theropods by the extreme depth of the tibia proximal end, and a deep longitudinal groove on the tibia. The new dinosaur is a ceratosaur, phylogenetically close to the base of the clade, and perhaps more derived than the Chinese basal ceratosaur Limusaurus. The new taxon is significant in the evolution of the ceratosaurian dinosaurs, being placed temporally between its more common Jurassic and middle-Upper Cretaceous relatives, and it is one of only a few from Laurasia.

Chyba jeszcze nikt nie pisał o Alnashetri cerropoliciensis.

Peter J. Makovicky, Sebastián Apesteguía, and Federico A. Gianechini (2012)
A New Coelurosaurian Theropod from the La Buitrera Fossil Locality of
Río Negro, Argentina. Fieldiana Life and Earth Sciences Number 5 :90-98
doi: http://dx.doi.org/10.3158/2158-5520-5.1.90
http://www.bioone.org/doi/abs/10.3158/2158-5520-5.1.90
A new coelurosaurian theropod, Alnashetri cerropoliciensis, is
reported here based on articulated hind limbs of a single individual
discovered at the locality of La Buitrera (Candeleros Formation,
Cenomanian–Turonian), Río Negro Province, Argentina. The new taxon
differs from other coelurosaurs in the possession of a low ridge that
separates the rostral tibial surface from the outer face of the
lateral malleolus, and which extends proximally beyond the tip of the
ascending process of the astragalus, and in the possession of ventral
notches on the hemicondyles of the distal articulations on pedal
phalanges III-1 and III-2. Alnashetri is easily distinguished from the
dromaeosaurid Buitreraptor, the only other known small theropod from
La Buitrera. Phylogenetic analysis supports alvarezsauroid affinities.
The evidence supporting this relationship comes from the detailed
anatomy of the ankle, however, and this concentration of character
support within a single anatomical region may bias our results. If our
proposed phylogenetic placement is accurate, Alnashetri antedates all
other Argentinian alvarezsaurids and indicates that alvarezsaurids
were present in the Neuquén Basin throughout the entire Late
Cretaceous.

A thick-skulled theropod (Dinosauria, Saurischia) from the Upper Cretaceous of Morocco with implications for carcharodontosaurid cranial evolution.
Cau A., Dalla Vecchia F.M., Fabbri, M., 2012b. Cretaceous Research
In this study, we erect Sauroniops pachytholus gen. et sp. nov., a large-bodied theropod dinosaur from the Cenomanian (Upper Cretaceous) of Morocco, on the basis of an almost complete frontal showing a unique combination of features including a naso–frontal suture extended along 40% of the frontal length, a thick dome in the anterolateral corner of the dorsal surface, a trapezoidal prefrontal facet that is restricted to the anterodorsal margin of the lateral surface of the frontal with no participation in the orbital roof and separated from the lacrimal facet by a narrow vertical lamina, a hypertrophied ‘D-shaped’ lacrimal facet that is four times the anterior depth of the postorbital facet, and a raised posteromedial margin of the dorsal surface describing a saddle with the anterolateral dome and confluent with a series of anteromedial rugosities. Phylogenetic analysis found robust support for placing Sauroniops among the basal carcharodontosaurids and related to Eocarcharia, showed that some of the unusual features of the new theropod were convergently acquired by abelisaurids, and revealed a mosaic pattern in the evolution of the carcharodontosaurid skull table. The frontals of Sauroniops and Carcharodontosaurus, both from the ‘Kem Kem compound assemblage’ of Morocco, show comparable size but differ in the extent of the naso–frontal articulation, the shape and disposition of the prefrontal and lacrimal articulations, the development of dorsal ornamentation and the morphology of the supratemporal fossa. Among carcharodontosaurids, the skull table developed unique configurations among each lineage and appears diagnostic at the species-level. The dome-like frontal in Sauroniops may indicate head-butting behaviour in this taxon or evolved for visual display.
